An Outdoor Ceremony & The Ivory Cottage Garden Reception
Pre Wedding ceremonies were booked with our décor team where we dressed the home with marigolds; whilst the mehndi theme was that of royal Rajasthani colours taking the brides love for flowers into the design brief.
For the Mandvau/Sathak the local school drama theatre was converted with a backdrop dancing with rows of mirror torans and furnished with a white chaise lounge. Sometimes less is just more wouldn’t you say?
The brief was to create a minimalist mandap set which had traditional and contemporary notes.. Opting for an Ivory and Beige drapes for the mandap. The original plan was for the setting to be outdoors with the rose string arrangements and bunches of seasonal blooms in colours to compliment the bride. Planned with a walkway lined with woodland stumps dressed with seasonal blooms.
However the British weather was predictably unpredictable and three days before the events we met with the family to confirm that with the forecast the way it was we were needing to bring the ceremony indoors into the marquee.
With the forecast of heavy rain especially during the time between the turnaround between day ceremony and evening reception we were required to plan how we would manage the guests who staying on site. The couples plan was to allow guests to enjoy the manors beautiful landscape and gardens.
Liaising with the venue we worked to ensure the veranda area was where the live music would assist in hosting the guests and canapé service whilst we worked to remove the mandap and expand the room to its true design brief.
We loved incorporating 7 living trees between 9-12ft tall which just added to the setting of ivories and botanicals for the evening.
The head table was designed to bring the outdoors indoor with a trellis with roses and arrangements at the foot of the table complimented by candles and greenery on top of the table finished with laser cut place names.
We loved working with this couple to bring together their ideas to life.
